We were delighted to be involved in the fit-out of Flower Café, a beautifully styled new venue located in Sunderland’s newly developed Keel Square area. This vibrant part of the city continues to evolve, and it’s an area we know well—having worked just around the corner on Keel Tavern during the first quarter of 2024.

For Flower Café, Armitage & Wilson were commissioned to manufacture and install all the fixed seating throughout the venue, creating a welcoming, botanical-inspired space that offered comfort, character, and durability in equal measure.
Working closely with the client, we built bespoke booth seating tailored to the café’s fresh, floral aesthetic. Each piece was crafted in our workshop and made to measure to ensure a perfect fit within the layout. Upholstered in carefully selected commercial-grade fabrics, the seating strikes the right balance between everyday practicality and visual charm.
The seating zones were imagined by the designer to support the natural flow of the café, with cosy booths for quiet moments and more open areas for groups and social dining. Colour, texture, and layout were all considered to help bring the café’s brand and atmosphere to life.

Our in-house team delivered and installed the furniture on schedule, working alongside other trades to ensure a smooth fit-out from start to finish. The end result is a standout space that complements both the Flower Café identity and the wider regeneration of Keel Square.
We’re proud to have played a part in shaping another independent venue in this fast-growing part of Sunderland—and to continue building our track record for stylish, high-quality hospitality interiors.
