Armitage & Wilson were proud to complete the full fixed seating package for House Brown, a stylish new coffee house located in Newcastle’s historic Old Eldon Square. Designed to feel more like a home than a café, this independent, family-run business has quickly established itself as a must-visit spot for quality coffee, warm service, and a calm, considered atmosphere.

The team behind House Brown are passionate about supporting other local businesses—sourcing their signature coffee blend from a Newcastle roaster and offering a selection of handmade cakes and pastries from artisan suppliers across the region. From the moment you walk in, the space reflects a sense of community and care, with carefully chosen interiors and a welcoming vibe that invites guests to stay a while.
Armitage & Wilson were commissioned to manufacture and install all fixed seating throughout the venue. Working closely with the design client, we developed bespoke booth and banquette seating tailored to the clean, modern aesthetic of the space. Materials were selected by the designer for both comfort and durability, using commercial-grade upholstery that pairs soft textures with long-lasting performance—perfect for the busy day-to-day of a city-centre café.
Each seating element was custom-built in our workshop and installed by our in-house team with precision and care. The layout was designed to offer a mix of relaxed seating zones—ideal for solo visitors, informal meetings, or small groups catching up over brunch. The result is a cohesive interior that complements the natural light and heritage features of the building, while supporting the flow and function of the space.
Since opening its doors in spring, House Brown has become a firm favourite with locals and visitors alike—earning praise for its thoughtful design, top-tier coffee, and warm, independent feel. We’re proud to have played a role in creating a space that’s already making its mark in the heart of Newcastle.
